How to Invite Co-Parents, Walkers & Sitters in Pet Family

Raising a dog or cat is rarely a solo effort. Between spouses, parents, roommates, dog walkers, and holiday pet sitters, sharing a single login password is both insecure and inconvenient. The Pet Family module in PetEYE MyPet lets you build a trusted care circle with role-based permissions and automatic expiration timers.

Understanding the 3 Pet Family Roles

Before sending an invite, choose the permission tier that matches the person’s responsibility in the Role Management Sheet:

• Co-Parent (Green Badge): Full access equivalent to a primary family member. Ideal for your spouse, partner, or parent living in the same home.
• Caretaker (Amber Badge): Can view medical and feeding records and add daily care logs, weight checks, and reminders, without altering ownership or security settings. Ideal for regular dog walkers, daycares, or pet sitters.
• Viewer (Grey Badge): Read-only access to your pet’s profile and health records. Ideal for extended family members, apartment RWA secretaries, or prospective adopters.

Step 1: Send a Pet Family Invitation

1. Sign in to peteye.pet/mypet and open the Overview tab of your pet’s profile.
2. Tap the Pet Family card and click Invite Member.
3. Enter the recipient’s registered email address or mobile details, select their initial role, and send the invite.
4. Alternative (QR Circle Scan): An authenticated PetEYE user can also scan your pet’s QR collar tag in person to send a Pet Circle Request, which appears in your notification panel for one-tap approval.

Step 2: How the Recipient Accepts Your Invite

1. The invited family member or caretaker logs in to their own account at peteye.pet/mypet.
2. Inside their Received Invites Inbox, they tap Accept.
3. Your pet immediately appears under their Shared Pets switcher so they can view instructions and log care from their own phone.

Step 3: Set Role Expiry & Manage Permissions

Hiring a pet sitter for a 7-day vacation? You do not need to remember to remove them manually after your trip:

1. Open Overview -> Pet Family and tap on any active member in your circle.
2. In the Role Management Sheet, select their role (Viewer, Caretaker, or Co-Parent).
3. Choose an Expiry Duration: 1 Day, 7 Days, 30 Days, 90 Days, or No Expiry.
4. Tap Save Changes, or click Remove Member at any time to revoke access immediately.
