Collars and harnesses can slip off when a startled dog or cat bolts through a gate. Registering your pet’s permanent physical markers, 4-angle profile photos, and canine nose print biometrics inside PetEYE MyPet creates an unforgeable visual identity that works even if your pet is found without a collar.
Before You Begin: Lighting & Camera Tips
Before opening the upload screen on peteye.pet, move your pet near a window or shaded outdoor balcony. Natural, diffused daylight prevents harsh flash reflections on wet noses and captures accurate coat colors.
Step 1: Open Records & Identification Marks
- Log in to your dashboard at peteye.pet/mypet and select your pet’s profile card.
- Switch to the Records tab on the profile navigation bar.
- Tap the Identification Marks card to launch the visual verification modal.
Step 2: Log Up to 3 Permanent Physical Identification Marks
Inside the Identification Marks screen, you will see three dedicated fields (Identification Mark 1, Identification Mark 2, and Identification Mark 3). Tap the edit pencil icon and record permanent traits that a veterinarian, municipal officer, or rescuer can verify at a glance:
- Coat & Paw Patterns: White diamond patch on the chest, black-tipped tail, or white front-left sock.
- Skin & Ear Features: V-shaped ear notch from community sterilization, pink pigment spot on the lower lip, or healed surgical scar.
- Eye & Muzzle Details: Heterochromia (two different eye colors), speckled muzzle, or dewclaw presence.
Tap the checkmark button to save your entries. These descriptions automatically populate your on-demand Anti-Rabies Vaccination (ARV) and municipal registration PDFs.
Step 3: Upload the 4-Angle Profile Photos (GHMC Standard)
Municipal bodies such as GHMC Hyderabad require four distinct angles for official pet dog registration. In the same modal, upload one clear photo for each slot:
- Front View (petFrontImage): Capture your pet looking toward the camera showing face, ears, and chest markings.
- Back View (petBackImage): Capture the rear silhouette, tail carriage, and dorsal coat pattern.
- Left Profile (petLeftImage): Full side-on shot of your pet’s left flank from nose to tail.
- Right Profile (petRightImage): Full side-on shot of your pet’s right flank.
Each photo is automatically standardized and stored in your encrypted cloud vault so you never have to hunt through your phone gallery during an emergency.
Step 4: Register Your Dog’s Biometric Nose Print
Just like a human fingerprint, the groove-and-bead pattern on a dog’s nose (the nasal planum) is unique from puppyhood:
- Gently blot excess moisture from your dog’s nose with a soft tissue so glare does not blur the epidermal ridges.
- Hold your smartphone camera 10 to 15 cm away in bright daylight and let the macro lens lock focus on the front of the nostrils and central philtrum.
- Upload the image through the Nose ID verification card in PetEYE MyPet.
- The backend runs an instant uniqueness check to ensure the biometric hash is bound exclusively to your pet’s ID.
Troubleshooting Common Upload Issues
- Blurry Nose Print Warning: Avoid using digital zoom. Move the phone physically closer or switch to your phone’s 1x or macro camera lens.
- Photo Size Limit: Standard JPEG, PNG, and WebP photos from iOS and Android cameras are compressed and named automatically during upload.
